Kids of all ages are welcome at RiverJam Romp!
Rayna Palm is joining us again this year to help keep willing kids engaged and having fun during scheduled workshop sessions.
During all scheduled workshop times, there are three options for children:
1) They can enjoy a workshop accompanied by their parent or another designated adult.
2) If they are happy and secure on their own, they can join Rayna without an adult and enjoy the activities she is offering.
3) You can spend some quality adult-child time together outside of the workshops. There are grassy areas to run around in and hiking trails that you can explore together.
Rayna will also be around to lend a hand with kids during the Farewell Gathering on Sunday afternoon.
At all other times, parents and children are expected to stick together. We will provide more detailed information closer to camp about site safety and expectations for all ages.
Our workshops and activities are open to any interested child accompanied by their own adult. (Some song workshops may include adult themes, so check with the workshop teacher in advance if this is a concern.) We do our best to offer plenty of activities that everyone can enjoy.
We welcome your questions! We are also parents, and we all have personal experience managing our own families' needs at events and camps. Contact us if you want to chat about it.
Rayna Palm was raised as a homeschooler on a small homestead, spending her days caring for animals, gardens and roaming the woods with her siblings. She has been guiding little ones and teens for 9 years through Village Day, Belfast Adventure Education, White Pines Programs and Maine Fiddle Camp. In her free time she loves weaving, gardening, sailing, singing, and making small silly instruments out of plants. She feels deeply rooted in earth-based experiential learning and believes that life is made richer when we live and play in harmony with both one another and the natural world.
